There are a few ways to join the Red Brigade Band:
Incoming Freshmen from UGMS or NMS:
Add Band to your electives. We'll handle the rest.
New to Killeen ISD/New to Harker Heights High School:
Enroll - Contact the HHHS Counseling Office and request to enroll into band.
Email - Email Mr. Skinner (Director of Bands) and let him know of your interest and he'll get you all the information you need for a successful transition into the Red Brigade Band!
Join as a new musician:
It's not too late to learn and instrument and join the Red Brigade Band. Request to join the Concert 2 class and begin your musical journey!
Join the award winning Avalon Color Guard!

It depends. A majority of the instruments must be privately owned or rented and maintained by the musician. There are also school owned instruments (tuba/sousaphone, euphonium, percussion, etc) provided for students.
If your student would like to earn their Letter Jacket before their Senior year, they need to meet the criteria set forth by the Killeen ISD Fine Arts Department (Link).
In order to qualify for a letter award, a participant must meet the following requirements in their fine arts organization:
Students will be eligible for a varsity letter jacket by earning a minimum often (10) points from the following categories:

If a student has participated in the band program for three continuous years and plans to continue their Senior year, they are eligible to apply for a Letter Jacket.
Mondays | 4:45 pm - 7:15 pm |
Wednesdays | 6:45 am - 8:15 am |
Thursdays | 6:45 am - 8:15 am |
Fridays* | 6:45 am - 8:15 am |
*No Friday Morning Rehearsal if the Football game occurs on Thursday Night.
